After a deadly automobile accident involving himself and a young female passenger, British tourist Alex has a change of heart. He decides to deliver some gifts to the girl's mother, whom he discovers suffers from severe Autism. The mother manages to get Alex to stay with her to sort out the girl's funeral (and put out the bins because she 'doesn't do garbage'). Along the way, he gets to know the small town of Wawa and the captivating neighbor next door.
